Emmy Brooks
"I believe art should be approachable, affordable, and is meant to be lived with. Layering art into your spaces brings texture and life."
My name is Emmy Brooks, and I am a self-taught creative living in Charleston, South Carolina with my husband, Kyle, and our three children: Parson, Teller and Winnie. I am a follower of Christ and believe that all good things come from Him.
My Story
I have always loved the process of making spaces more beautiful. As a child, I watched mom my create magic in her gift shop, our home and friends' houses. I vividly remember one of my mom's friends letting me paint her outdoor furniture β just for fun - while they hung art in her home. As a teenager, I staged my bedroom for showings when our house was on the market leaving magazines spread "just so" on my bed and helped my mom arrange flowers for weddings. I attended the College of Charleston enjoying all the beauty and history this city has to offer. After college, my creativity took shape through years as a wedding planner, where my canvas became intimate gatherings and large-scale celebrations.
Once I became a mother, my focus shifted home. I enjoy making crafts with my kids and encourage them to be creative whenever we can! I've been incredibly Blessed to be surrounded by people who encouraged me to bring my creative energy off the back burner. Being a mom is my number one priority; but somewhere between the carpool line, everyday life, and the moments in between β I paint.
The Creative Process
Art is the one thing I can truly lose myself in⦠well, that and doom scrolling (you know). I work from a small studio in my home, sometimes painting every day for weeks at a time, and other months not touching a brush at all. Creativity, like life, doesn't follow a schedule, and I've learned not to force it.
My work is personal, and I want you to see the strokes that went into it. My collection includes abstract pieces, florals, bold animals, and whatever else finds its way out of my brain and onto the canvas. I don't always feel qualified to call myself an artist, but it brings a smile to my face when my children introduce me as one.
My Philosophy
I believe art should be approachable, affordable, and is meant to be lived with.
Own what you love. Let it clash. Let it stand out. If it brings you joy, it belongs.
Every piece I create is made with emotion and heart. I want my art to bring joy and color into your everyday life β whether it's the focal point of your living room or a small piece that makes you smile when you pass it in the hallway.

I paint from my home studio in the Lowcountry and would be happy to show it to you by appointment.
